I Never Thought I’d Do Online Beautician Courses

I didn’t plan this. Not even thought about it. I used to work in a store, folding clothes, managing shifts, smiling throughout the day. It was a good-paying job. But after a while, every day felt the same. Clock in, clock out, repeat. I’d come home tired and wonder if this was it. Suppose this were all I’d ever do. What else was I qualified for? Nothing I could think of. I qualified for nothing, not a baking course or any online beautician course. I regretted it and started asking myself again and again why?

It was a Tuesday. Nothing special. I was scrolling on my phone, watching random beauty videos. You know the kind, flawless lashes, perfect brows, skin so smooth it almost didn’t look real.

But something about that night felt different.

I watched a podcast where someone explained how they went from doing their sister’s brows to running their own home beauty business. And they started with a course, not in a classroom, not in a college. Online.

I Searched “Online Beautician Courses” — Just Out of Curiosity

At first, I didn’t even think it was a real option. I never thought that there were beauty courses in Dublin. I figured it’d cost a fortune or require some background I didn’t have. But I found courses that were affordable, fully certified, and made for beginners. Real courses. No high prices. No unrealistic promises. I clicked through one of them. It felt easy. No pressure. Study at your own pace. Learn when you have time. Fit it around your life. I signed up before I could talk myself out of it.

I Didn’t Know What I Was Doing — And That Was Okay

The first time I opened the course, I had a cup of tea, a notebook, and a million doubts in my head. I didn’t come from a beauty background. I didn’t even know what half the tools were called.

I didn’t have a salon. I didn’t have clients. But I had the basics and a clean corner in my room. I texted a few friends, offered to do their brows and manicure for free, just to practice.

They came. They loved it. They came back. And then they told someone else. Before I knew it, I had bookings. Actual bookings. People who saw my work and trusted me with their faces and hands. I made a portfolio of everything by clicking on before and after pictures. So that it can help me learn from my mistakes and achievements, and I can also show my clients my previous work. 

I Looked for More Beauty Course in Dublin

Once I got a little more confident, I started looking up other options. I searched for beauty courses in Dublin. Again. I added another course. Then another. I built on what I learned. Each course opened new doors, new opportunities, not just technically, but creatively. I was no longer surviving work. I was growing something that felt like mine.

No One Gave Me Permission — I Gave It to Myself

I didn’t wait for life to shift. I made the shift. I didn’t know exactly where it would lead, but I knew what it felt like to finally move forward.

And that matters more than having a perfect plan.

These online beautician courses gave me the space to learn, the freedom to learn and try everything, and the tools to actually do something with my time, talent, and energy.

It wasn’t fast. It wasn’t flawless. But it was real.
